US Africa Command carried out an airstrike on Sunday in southern Libya killing 7 ISIS militants in coordination with the Government of National Accord.

In a statement on Monday, US Africa Command director of operations William Gayler said their pursuit of ISIS-Libya and other terrorist networks degrades their ability to effectively conduct operations against the Libyan people.

“By disrupting the terrorists’ planning, training, and activities, we also degrade their capacity to threaten US and partner interests in the region.” He added.

He also said Africa Command continues to support diplomatic efforts to stabilize the political situation in Libya in order to maintain our common focus on disrupting terrorist organizations that threaten regional stability.

This is the fourth strike I'm southern Libya against ISIS in two weeks. The first one killed 8, the second killed 11, and the third killed 17.
