The deputy head of the UNSMIL for political affairs, Stephanie Williams said they had selected the participants of the Libyan National Conference (Multaqa Al-Watani) very meticulously and against 17 standards.

Williams told Libya Al-Ahrar TV Channel on Thursday that the standards included social components, political parties, crisis parties, areas in all regions, minorities, youths, and women, saying all Libyans will have a say at the conference.

She added, during a visit to Al-Zawiya, that the UNSMIL learned from mistakes that took place in Skhirat agreement's rounds of dialogue.

Williams reiterated that Libya must be under a civilian rule not a military one.

The UN deputy head arrived in Al-Zawiya on Thursday and met with mayors and members of House Representatives from the city, among others.

Two days ago, Williams met with representatives of revolutionary fighters and discussed their participation in the upcoming conference.
