A new round of the Libyan political dialogue is set for next Monday, August 10, the UNSMIL has announced.

The head of the UNSMIL Bernardino Leon urged the main dialogue parties to redouble their efforts and continue working together towards narrowing existing differences and forging a common platform that can form the basis for a peaceful resolution of the political and military conflict in Libya.

Referring to the GNC reservations, Leon said all parties should continue working together to address and resolve these concerns within the framework of the dialogue process.

It's not known whether the GNC dialogue team would be present at this round. A GNC delegation met with Bernardino Leon in Algeria early this week to discuss the dialogue process. The GNC declined to sign the latest UNSMIL draft, demanding certain amendments to be included in the draft before signing it.
