UNICEF has provided assistance to more than 35 displaced families in Tripoli, affected by the war waged against the city, the organization said on its Facebook page.

At a time when children and families in Tripoli are living under Covid-19 related movement restrictions, the continued shelling by Haftar's militias on the city had made life even more unbearable for over 2 million people residing the capital and resulting in the displacement of more than 140 thousand people, according to a UN report released earlier this year.

More than 35 displaced families, including 70 children have received hygiene items, entertainment kits for children, and blankets, in partnership with the IOM, explained a statement by UNICEF.

The shelling of the campus in Al-Farnaj area housing around 22 displaced families has forced them to seek shelter at Jeel Al-Thawra primary School located in Souq al-Jumaa Municipality, according to UNICEF.
