The UN Security Council agreed Thursday on a Libyan request to hold a meeting for the sanctions committee and panel of experts on Libya in the presence of the countries involved in supporting the offensive on Tripoli that was launched in April 2019.
The Libyan ambassador to the UN Taher El Sonni said on Twitter that the Security Council, chaired by Germany, had agreed to Libya's request to hold the meeting.
El Sonni added that the meeting is slated for the end of July in the presence of the countries that have been named in UN reports as violators of arms embargo, smuggling oil illicitly among other violations.
The Libyan Foreign Ministry has requested this month a special meeting at the UN Security Council for the panel of experts and sanctions committee on Libya as part of its efforts to unveil the names of the countries that support coup militias and mercenaries in their quest to bring back military rule to Libya.
