The UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame ended a three-day visit to Washington DC in the US, where he held discussions with American officials in different circles, including the US Congress.

"The visit comes as part of his intensive efforts to restore a unified international position on Libya to end to its current crisis." UNSMIL said on Saturday.

Before Washington, Salame visited European countries as well as European Union and NATO officials and discussed the developments in Libya.

In the meantime, the Presidential Council and its Head Fayez Al-Sirraj reject any talks of a ceasefire without the obligation to Haftar's forces to retreat to their previous positions, seeing the unconditional ceasefire asked for by France and others as a bonus for Haftar's forces.

Haftar's attack on Tripoli has been ongoing since April 04, with hundreds of deaths and injuries, not to mention and tens of thousands displaced from their houses in fighting zones, according to the World Health Organization.
