The Head of the UNSMIL, Ghassan Salame, met in Al-Qubba - eastern Libya - with the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Aqialh Saleh.

UNSMIL said on Twitter Sunday that Salame and Saleh reviewed the latest about the Libyan political deadlock and the political agreement amendments.

In a presser following the meeting, Salame said Saleh and he discussed the necessity of the constitution for Libyans and the need to hold elections before the end of 2018.

"I haven't called for a third dialogue round in Tunisia but I said I will give the political agreement one last shot for amendment and I am here today for that end." Salame replied to reporters asking whether he urged for a new dialogue round or not.

He added the closer to the referendum for constitution Libyans are the less important the amendment to the executive authority is.

Salame also said that they are preparing for the National Conference as part of his action plan.

The action plan was proposed on September 20 by Salame with three main points: amendment to the political agreement, national conference and the passing of the constitution with general elections.
