The United Kingdom (UK) has urged the Libyan government to continue providing full cooperation with the United Nations independent fact-finding mission by facilitating totally unrestricted access to all parts of Libya.

The UK called, in a speech delivered by its permanent representative in Geneva, to urgently address those acting with impunity in Libya and to hold them accountable, particularly those responsible for human rights violations.

The speech welcomed the Libyan government’s participation in the in-depth review process and its acceptance of the recommendations made to consolidate the human rights file in the country.

The UK also called on Libya to work towards the comprehensive and equal participation of women in conflict settlement and decision making.
