Two teachers from the Martyrs Ras al-Toba School for primary education in the city of Misrata have been hailed as heroes after they lost their lives to rescue one of their students who was caught in the sea during a school trip.

The students were part of the football school team that was offered a trip to the beach for winning second place in a football tournament.

The school said on its Facebook page that after some time, the student was noticed missing, so one of the teachers went to look for him, but there was no trace whatsoever.

Two other teachers then rushed into action to save the student, but they were later pulled out of the waters and pronounced dead.

The student was dragged away from the shore but luckily was saved by a holidaymaker at the beach.
