Two Italian nationals, held hostage by ISIS group in Sabratha since  July 2015, were freed on Friday.

The Joint Operation Room of Sabratha to Fight ISIS said the two Italian hostages Gino Pollicardo and Filippo Calcagno are safe and in good health conditions.

The two were rescued in a raid to one of ISIS dens in southern Sabratha, as search and combing operations to hunt ISIS fugitives continue. Sources said a Tunisian female ISIS fighter, who was arrested on Thursday, informed Sabratha authorities about the whereabouts of the two Italian hostages.

Four Italian workers for Bonatti Construction Company were kidnapped near Mellitah Oil Compound last July. The Italian Foreign Ministry said the two other Bonatti workers, Fausto Piano and Salvatore Failla, had probably died in a firefight on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Sabratha announced the formation of a joint force and a common operations room to fight IS militias and their supporters.
