The Turkish Armed Forces have provided the Libyan Navy under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) with five weeks of training in underwater warfare, a statement by the Turkish Defense Ministry explained Sunday.

The statement said that the move is part of Turkey’s commitment to Libya based on agreements between the two countries.

The Turkish Defense Ministry added that multiple training programs for Libya’s Armed Forces are continuing under the Military Training, Cooperation and Consultancy Agreement, which was signed in November 2019 between the two countries.

The Turkish Defense Ministry's statement also explained that coast guard ship training for Libyan Armed Forces started on December 20 and will last for six weeks.
