The spokesman for the Turkish Presidency Ibrahim Kalin said Sunday his country wasn't with tension escalation in Libya and that Ankara would continue to support the legitimate Government of National Accord in Tripoli in its efforts to defend itself.

Kalin denied in an interview with Turkish NTV any intentions by Ankara to confront other countries on Libyan soil, adding that Haftar was behind violations of all agreements, including Skhirat agreement, yet he still "enjoys support by Egypt, UAE, France and Russia".

Kalin added that the intentions of some countries which said they backed ceasefire and peace in Libya have become clear when they attacked Mitiga Airport and said they wanted to rule the country by force after deploying forces in Sirte and Jufra.

"Turkey and Libyan GNA have military cooperation agreement and Ankara's presence in Libya created balance. When I talk to US and EU officials, they admit we created balance in Libya. Yet, we're just after solutions to the Libyan crisis via pushing forward political dialogue as per UN and Berlin conference efforts." Kalin added.

He indicated that Haftar's forces had been sending military reinforcements to Jufra airbase for a while, in violation of Skhirat agreement, adding that the reinforcement is made up of "mercenaries of Russian Wagner Group and UAE-funded militias".

"This isn't clear to me. All those violations of the countries and Haftar are clear, but accusations of GNA and Turkey of violating Skhirat agreement never end". He said, adding that the US and Russia aren't communicating with Haftar now as they used to before.
