Turkish Ambassador Kenan Yilmaz has reaffirmed his country's support for the political track and the establishment of national reconciliation in Libya, saying it is important to keep the channels of dialogue open during this critical period in the country.

During a meeting with the member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, Yilmaz urged Libyans not to resort to the use of force, maintain stability, establish reconciliation, and support the efforts for unifying the country.

He stressed that the interest of the Libyan people must be a priority for politicians, as well as holding elections as agreed upon by the Libyans.

Yilmaz disclosed that his country is planning to host a meeting for key Libyan parties as part of Turkey's contribution to the reconciliation process in Libya.

The step comes within the framework of Turkey's position that does not distinguish between regions and is based on mutual respect, regardless of the parties in Libya, the ambassador said.
