The Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Taieb Baccouche, reiterated his country’s commitment of non-intervention in Libya’s domestic affairs and the respect for Libya’s privacy out of neighborhood concerns not custody ones.

Participating in the opening session of the Libyan Mayors and municipalities’ reps meeting held in Tunis yesterday, Baccouche reaffirmed that Tunisia rejects the military intervention in Libya, which can only cause disasters, destruction and adds more chaos.

He added that stability and security in Tunisia entails the same in Libya and stressed that Tunisia will ensure that Libya remains united and secure, underscoring the historical responsibility put on the shoulders of all Libyan parties to partake in bringing the crisis to a fair compromise.

“Tunisia will always offer full support for the UN efforts that aim at resolving Libya’s crisis through dialogue and peaceful ways.” Baccouche concluded.
