The Tunisian ambassador to Libya, Lassad Al-Ajili, denied that his country banned Libyans from entering the country, telling February TV Channel that all Libyans are welcome in Tunisia and the authorities would never take a stance against them.

The Tunisian ambassador said the measures taken against Libyans based on health concerns not political ones due to the deterioration of health conditions in the country lately.

"Libya and Tunisia have a marvelous relationship and the recent visit of the Libyan Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah was proof. There is also continuous communication between the Libyan and Tunisian Foreign Ministers. Now, we can also say that there is progress in talks to reopen border movement from the two countries." Al-Ajili added.

Libyan media outlets reported Sunday evening Mitiga Airport Facebook post that said Tunisian authorities had issued an entry ban on Libyan passport holders, but the director of the airport later denied the news and said it was a rumor.
