Tajoura residents went out on the streets in big numbers on Saturday to celebrate the 6th anniversary of February 25th protest against the former regime of Gaddafi.

In 2011, thousands of Tajoura locals, joined by residents of neighboring districts of Arada and Souq Aljomaa took their way to then-Green Square chanting freedom, revolution, and anti-regime slogans. In the middle of their way, Gaddafi forces dispersed them by fire, leaving many dead and injured.

Celebrating the solemn event, Tajoura locals marched to Martyrs Square in downtown Tripoli in the presence of the families of that day’s martyrs coupled with a huge number of people along the way.
