The Libyan Foreign Minister of the UN-proposed government, Mohammed Sayala, held a joint conference with his French counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian, on Monday in Tripoli.

The French FM reiterated his country's support for finding a peaceful solution by contacting with all the Libyan conflicting parties.

"France is one of the first countries to urge for stability in Libya and that was included in the Paris joint declaration that said the Libyan crisis must end by amending the political agreement and then holding elections in the country." He added.
Also in Tripoli, Le Drian met with the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj, who discussed practical support for the Libyan Coast Guard and Presidential Guard.

Le Drian indicated also that the French embassy will gradually resume work in Tripoli to better regain mutual relations with Libya and back up the UN-proposed government from the capital.

Al-Sirraj welcomed the French FM's proposal to hold a French-Libyan economic forum in Tripoli before the end of 2017 and he welcomed that announcement of providing one million euros by France to the Stability Fund of the UN to support service projects in Libya.

Le Drian will also visit Misrata and Benghazi after departing from Tripoli as part of his efforts to build bridges among Libyan conflicting parties.

Le Drian arrived Monday morning in Tripoli in a visit aimed at pushing Libyan warring parties to support Paris road map that was announced from France in July.
