Spokesman of the Volcano of Rage Operation, Mohammed Gununu, denied that their air force had lost any of its warplanes since the start of the military operation in south Tripoli.

In a comment on eastern forces' claims of shooting down a warplane belonging to the Volcano of Rage forces and the arrest of its pilot of a Portuguese nationality; Gununu said that it was just fabrications of pro-Haftar media outlets to disrupt Al-Sarraj's visit to some European countries, and to cover up the reports regarding UAE drones and missiles being used to shell the capital Tripoli.

The eastern forces said Tuesday they shot down a warplane for Tripoli-based air force over Hira region and arrested its Portuguese pilot. They also posted pictures and videos claiming the identity of the pilot

Portuguese Defense Ministry said in a statement to Reuters that the pilot is not a Portuguese soldier.

Reuters correspondents in Lisbon also said the man did not sound Portuguese.

Meanwhile, a military source claimed that the aircraft belongs to the eastern forces and it was shot down by friendly fire. They used this incident as part of their propaganda to campaign for their Tripoli offensive., he said.
