Second deputy speaker of the Tripoli-based House of Representatives (HoR), Mohammed Lino has said that HoR is open to all efforts made by the United Nations regarding the 5 + 5 talks in Geneva aimed at bringing peace to Libya and stopping the bloodshed between the brothers of the homeland.

Lino pointed out that the 5 + 5 meetings are a prerogative of the military side, in which the HoR will not delve into its details, stressing that they support the preservation of the democratic path and peaceful transfer of power.

HoR called on the Presidential Council (PC) to be alert to what is happening in the vicinity of the city of Zuwara and the surrounding areas, regarding the military build-up of Haftar's militias, saying that it should stay focused on the issue.

The PC was also urged to remedy the mistakes made in Gharyan, in reference to Haftar's militia taking over the city before it was liberated by the Libyan army later.

Elections for HoR presidency carried out last Thursday, led to the selection of Hamouda Siyala as speaker of the parliament and Jalal Al-Shuwaidi, as the first deputy, while Mohammed Lino was elected as the second deputy.
