Tobruk Port is planning to launch cruises to Turkey and other countries, the port's administration has confirmed.

The disclosure was made during a meeting between the Chairman of the Steering Council of Tobruk Municipality, Faraj Abu Al-Khattabiya, and Tobruk seaport administration, in the presence of the commander of the Tobruk Naval Base and the Undersecretary of the municipality office.

The two sides reviewed the issues previously agreed upon with the Minister of Transport in the Government of National Unity regarding the launch of a marine line from the Tobruk seaport.

They also discussed related issues, including the passenger terminal needs, as the Tobruk municipality promised to provide the necessary assistance, according to its post on Facebook.

In 2021, Misrata launched a marine line to transport passengers to Turkish Izmir, before expanding its service to include Istanbul.
