The dissolved parliament of Tobruk ordered its dialogue team not to sign the UNSMIL's fifth draft until some more amendments are applied to it.

The dissolved parliament outlined, in a statement on Thursday, that among the required amendments are points related to having the authority in choosing the place and the head of the proposed national unity government, stressing that double-citizenship holders, who are taking part in the dialogue, are not entitled to be part of the national unity government.

“The Supreme State Council (SSC) should have an advisory role only and any of its decisions would not be obligatory for the parliament, whose job is to endorse the SSC’s organizing agendas,” the statement indicated , adding that the SSC’s headquarters should be in Sabha, then the parliament will choose half of its members and give the go-ahead for the other half members.

The statement concluded by saying that the political dialogue committee will have no future role in forming the government or in occupying vital positions once the signing of the agreement takes place, pointing out that all the decisions made by the GNC and the Salvation government must be considered invalid, while the parliament decisions remain valid and in effect.
