Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has said that his country shares the same vision with Italy regarding the Libyan file.

Tebboune made his remarks at a press conference Saturday, following talks with his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella, who is conducting a two-day visit to Algeria.

According to the Algerian news agency, the two sides discussed regional and international issues, including the situation in Libya, saying that the discussions reflected a convergence of views on the Libyan file.

Algeria and Rome have called on more than one occasion for the necessity to stick to the timetable elections at the end of this year and for the departure of all mercenaries and foreign fighters from Libya.

Last month, Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra said there is a solid chance for holding the polls on time, and obstacles to the electoral process are limited to organizational aspects.
