The Syrian As-Suwayda 24 News Network has confirmed the kidnapping of two Syrian brothers, originating from the city of As-Suwayda, in Libya’s Benghazi approximately 10 days ago in Benghazi.

The news network quoted a local source as stating that both brothers travelled earlier this month to Libya in order to work in the carpentry trade, however all contact with them ceased approximately 10 days ago.

The source further pointed out that a telephone call was received by a relative of the brothers in Libya, by an unidentified party who confirmed the kidnapping of both brothers and demanded a ransom of $15,000 for their safe release.

As-Suwayda 24 News Network said that since Libya seemed to achieve stability during the past months, dozens of residents of the city of As-Suwayda travelled to Libya seeking employment as part of the country’s reconstruction.
