The Libyan Supreme Judiciary Council instructed courts to reopen on April 23 to look for the new moon of the month (Hilal of Ramadan).

The council has acted upon a call by Libya's Fatwa House, which urged for this procedure to be taken as an exception from the ongoing precautionary measures of Coronavirus.

This came after the relevant committee of the Fatwa House held its second meeting chaired by the Director of Fatwa and Research Department, during which discussions focused on depicting the "Hilal of Ramadan" on Thursday.

The locations allocated for the crescent watch by the Fatwa House were Tripoli, Western Mountain, eastern and southern regions.
