The IS militants in Sirte carried out two car bomb attacks Thursday targeting a gathering for Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos forces nearby Jahid Campaign HQs in the vicinity of Al-Gharaibat Bridge, western Sirte.

15 fighters were killed and 60 were injured, sources from the military operation reported.

They added that a Toyota driven by a suicide IS militant went off near a gas station, while another car exploded near Al-Gharaibat Bridge.

The spokesman of Misrata Central Hospital, Akram Galaiwan, said the aftermath of the two car bomb attacks were 15 deaths and more than 60 injuries, some of which are very serious.

Misrata Central Hospital announced the state of emergency due to the huge number of injuries and deaths it had received.

Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos forces announced, after seizing residential area 2 and rooting out IS militants from there, that they were advancing into the rest of IS hideouts in residential area 3 and some parts of 1.
