The Spanish government appointed Francisco de Miguel as the new Ambassador to Libya on Friday.

Spanish media outlets said de Miguel, 58, will serve from the embassy’s office in Tunisia, which was set up in 2014 due to Libya’s security situations.

De Miguel is a diplomat since 1988. His previous position was Deputy Director-General for International Cooperation against Terrorism, Drugs and Organized Crime in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
