A source at the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), who preferred not to be named, said Sunday that the session of Monday for discussing parliamentary laws was postponed due to what happened in last week's session when the members illegally voted to withdraw confidence in the Government of National Unity as per Article 140 of internal laws.

The source said a number of members were in the Tripoli HoR office for consultation.

The HoR was supposed to discuss parliamentary elections law for the December 24 deadline. HoR Speaker Aqila Saleh said he had formed a 13-member committee to propose a law to the members for voting, remarking that if the HoR couldn't pass a law for parliamentary elections, it would resort to 2014 law of the HoR and use it as a constitutional basis for elections.

Libyan politicians accuse Saleh of hindering the issuance of the parliamentary elections law after he unilaterally issued a presidential elections law. They say after he sized up the law on certain people allowing them to return to work if they lost presidential elections, he would benefit from ignoring the passing of a parliamentary elections law to return to his work as Speaker if he ran for president and lost.
