The Head of the Audit Bureau, Khaled Shakshak, met on Wednesday with Minister of Labour and Civil Service Ali al-Abed to talk over the employment policy and the mechanisms for implementing the Bureau's recommendations.

The two sides agreed to prepare a vision for the structure of the state and adopt measures to provide job opportunities for citizens by enhancing the role of the private sector.

The meeting also discussed means to implement a national program to organize the labour market and prepare administrative staff for all sectors based on the actual needs of the state.

They also reviewed the possibility of establishing a central system that organizes databases for employees working in the administrative apparatus according to an electronic government.

It is noteworthy that the head of the Audit Bureau sent a letter last August to the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity containing notes on the inflation of staffing and the number of workers in the state's administrative apparatus.

In response, PM Dbeibah said his government has not contracted or appointed any new employees but deals with the salaries of those who have been working for years without obtaining their rights.
