Minister of Interior in the Salvation Government, Mohammed Shaiter, said that the SG had kick-started a new plan to fight the illegal immigration phenomenon.
Speaking in an interview on France 24 TV yesterday, he pointed out that lack of communication and immigration-relevant information provision from the European Union to the Libyan authorities inhibited the SG from containing the widespread of the phenomenon.
Minister Shaiter also indicated that the SG totally rejects the EU’s plan to intervene and conduct military operations along the Libyan coast under the pretext of illegal immigration and rejects all kinds of military intervention in Libya regardless of the country.
