The media adviser of Libya's Health Ministry Ameen Al-Hashimi said Wednesday that seven people were killed and ten others were injured in mine explosions in Ain Zara and Wadi Rabea in southern Tripoli.

Al-Hashimi said a woman and a Central Investigation Department member were among the killed as well as three demining experts.

Sources from different southern Tripoli areas said massive explosions took place on Airport Road and Ain Zara as well as other areas for mines planted by Khalifa Haftar's forces before they had fled their positions in south Tripoli.

Military engineers and demining experts have been trying to remove IEDs in Salah Al-Deen and other areas in south Tripoli to pave the way for the return of IDPs to their houses, but the operations had caused many casualties.

The total death toll of the mine explosions, planted by Haftar's forces, reached 34 persons and 50 injuries, according to documented reports by the joint committee to document human rights violations of the Ministry of Justice.

The committee said the forces attacking Tripoli had planted mines in houses of people and some of them were found in children's dolls and teddy bears in a very inhumane behavior, adding that the incidents had been documented as they pose violations to international humanitarian law and Libyan laws.
