The notorious killer affiliated with Khalifa Haftar’s self-styled army, Mahmoud Al-Werfalli, committed on Wednesday new summary and extra-judicial executions in war-torn city of Benghazi, killing in broad daylight 10 captives outside Bait Radwan mosque where Tuesday’s twin explosions took place.

Sources from the city said Al-Werfalli committed his new crime in retaliation for the twin explosions that left at least 34 people dead and 71 others wounded.

Although no investigations were conducting into the two explosions, Al-Werfalli and his radical Salafist groups were so quick to point the finger at so-called “Khwarij” as one of their senior commanders - chief of Arrest and Special Investigation Unit of Dignity Operation, Ahmed Al-Fituri-  was killed in the first explosion.

While Al-Werfalli was committing his crime, UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, was meeting with warlord Khalifa Haftar in Rajma, a village 27 km east of Benghazi.

The UNSMIL said Salame expressed condemnation of the two bombings and discussed with the military dictator, who is supposed to have control over  Al-Werfalli, the political process.

Mahmud Al-Werfalli is a senior field commander of Saiqa Force of Khalifa Haftar’s self-styled army. He is wanted for the International Criminal Court for committing at least 10 summary executions on camera in Benghazi.

Dignity Operation commanders have repeatedly claimed that Al-Werfalli is under arrest by the military prosecutor.
