Security services in Bani Walid Municipality have managed to free 13 Egyptians after they were kidnapped from the city's outskirts a few days ago.

Abdel Hakim Musa Hafeez, head of the Information Office of the Bani Walid Security Directorate, said in statements to The Libya Observer that the freed hostages were of Egyptian nationalities and were kidnapped from the highway four days ago, noting that they confirmed they infiltrated Libya illegally.

He added that the abductees were held in a house inside the city without disclosing the area.

"The patrols of Bani Walid Security Directorate managed to trace their location and conducted Tuesday a raid operation to free the hostages, director of the information office said.

He indicated that two Libyans were involved in the kidnapping, confirming their arrest and transfer to the Public Prosecution Office to undergo investigations.
