The assistant commander of the field operation room of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos, Al-Hadi Drah, said the second phase of the return of Sirte displaced families to their houses has begun today.

He told the press Thursday morning that this stage includes Neighborhood 3 after it has been cleared from mines, adding that the return of Sirte IDPs will be divided into 6 stages.

“Al-Bunyan Al-Marsoos forces are combing through the city and doing demining works to secure Sirte using the modest support and equipment the military engineers have got.”

The first stage of the return of Sirte IDPs started on Tuesday when more than 300 families returned to their houses in Neighborhood 700 in western Sirte. Then on Wednesday, the same phase continued with the rest of the IDPs returning to the same neighborhood.

The Sirte-Misrata Special Military Operation Room created a six-point plan to secure the comeback of the Sirte displaced residents to their houses and formed a committee to supervise the implementation of the plan.
