The Chairman of the Presidential Council, Fayez Sarraj, held talks Monday with Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, on the latest developments in Libya and means of enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.

This came during a meeting held on Monday at the Amiri Palace in Jeddah, attended by Foreign Ministers of both countries and a number of officials.

They two sides agreed to work through joint committees to activate bilateral cooperation in various fields like security, economic and development.

The Saudi Crown Prince said that his country stands with the efforts to support stability in Libya and is ready to play a role to support a Libyan national project representing Libyans and fulfilling their wishes.

He stressed that the stability of Libya will have a positive effect on neighboring countries and the whole region.

For his part, Sarraj reviewed developments in the political situation in Libya since the signing of the Skhirat agreement to the Paris meeting, including the agreement to hold parliamentary and presidential elections this year.

He said that he seeks to establish a democratic civilian state, pointing out that this option needs regional and international support and aid to block obstructions, adding that he welcomed the support of Saudi Arabia and their initiatives in this direction.
