The Prime Minister of the Salvation Government, Khalifa Al-Ghweil, received Thursday a British delegation of security experts and parliament institution officials, in the presence of PM First and Second Deputies, Abdulmonem Al-Dalli, and Ahmed Al-Hafer respectively, as well as Foreign Minister, Ali Abu Zakouk.

During the meeting, there was a data-show presentation that explained the work of the SG and its efforts to reconcile all Libyans, in addition to the responsibilities it assumed to limit the illegal immigration issue regardless of the poor equipment.

Al-Gweil told the Communication and Media administration in the Prime Ministry that the aim of the British delegation’s visit is to see and report the real image of the Libyan people that is being distorted by external media outlets saying Tripoli is not safe and is controlled by militias.

“The British delegation joined Libyans Wednesday in their celebration and was truly impressed by what it saw on the ground as all Libyans were excited as they were out in the public square spontaneously celebrating the revolution without even coordination with state authorities.” Added Al-Ghweil.

He added that he explained to the British delegation that spreading chaos in Libya was caused by ex-regime followers as they tried to bring back to the political scene Gaddafi’s henchmen in all ways possible, confirming that the Libyan people and revolutionaries will stand in their way and won’t let them steal away their freedom, which they got by the blood of the martyrs.

“The conspiracy is still ongoing by some foreign parties, which have formed Skhirat government and are now trying to bring it to Tripoli by force with the aid of the United Nations, which will be rejected by the Libyans after all the sacrifices they made to be independent.” Elaborated Al-Ghweil.

On the other hand, the Head of the British delegation, Fredrick Shampers, explained to the Communication and Media administration that the major target of the visit is to report the correct and real image of Libya to British officials and encourage them to visit Libya and see the real excitement of the Libyans by themselves.

“I’m truly happy that I came to Libya and saw how the Libyan people are excited in celebrating the revolution anniversary, and to see that Tripoli city is safe and secure.” The British delegate said.

He also reaffirmed that the delegation will do its best to convince the British government to allow more cooperation between the two countries.
