The Qatari Emir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has said his country's role in Libya will be positive and in support of holding elections on schedule.

The Qatari Emir stressed in a meeting with the visiting Libyan delegation headed by Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah on Thursday the bilateral relations between Libya and Qatar and reiterated the need to boost cooperation in different fields, including investment, and reconstruction.

The two sides reiterated that any Libyan-Qatari investment and economic cooperation will be encouraged, while Dbeibah concluded the meeting by inviting the Qatar Foreign Minister to attend the Libya stability conference in late October in Tripoli.

The Libyan delegation included the Governor of the Central Bank, Chairman of Libyan Investment Authority, Foreign, Finance Ministers and Ministers of State for communication and political affairs as well as cabinet affairs.
