In meeting in Tripoli to discuss the latest about the attack on Tripoli by Khalifa Haftar's forces, the Presidential Council's (PC) Head Fayez Al-Sarraj explained the current military position on frontlines and the achievements made by the forces repelling the attack on Tripoli.

The meeting was attended by members Ahmed Mitig, Abdelsalam Kajman, Mohammed Al-Emmari and Ahmed Hamza.

The meeting also discussed the measures taken by the PC to provide for people the basic services and to provide for the injured emergency treatment, besides assisting the displaced in coordination with municipal councils in areas of the fighting.

Al-Sarraj also met with the Head of the UNSMIL, Ghassan Salame, and talked about the current attack and the international efforts to end it.

In a statement by the media office of Al-Sarraj, the PC said Salame reported the UN's condemnation for the attack on civilian institutions and expressed deep concern about the fate of civilians residing in the clashes' zones.

"There will be a new date for the Libyan National Conference once the military escalation ends." Salame said, adding that delay was an emergency.

A source from the PC said earlier that Al-Sarraj had told all international partners that the Libyan National Conference has become something from the past and it won't be on the table until Haftar's forces return to their previous positions.
