The deputy head of the crisis and emergency committee of the Presidential Council (PC), Othman Abdeljalili, said the PC had reshuffled the committee due to unfinished tasks and low performance.

In a briefing at the House of Representatives session in Tripoli on Tuesday, Abdeljalil said the committee formed a high commission for the displaced and it will thus inform and report to the crisis committee all the needs of every municipality regarding the number of IDPs.

"The delay of sending the financial allocations to municipalities comes from the Central Bank of Libya as it had not yet approved the checks. The government allocated 120 million dinars to the damaged municipalities three weeks ago with three times of money orders being sent to the CBL but no cashing out yet." Abdeljalil added.

Several mayors from western Libya criticized in a presser on Monday the crisis committee's work and accused it of negligence of duties, calling on the PC to reshuffle it.

Tajoura's mayor Hussein Bin Atiya said there are 2000 displaced families in the district distributed on several shelter centers, with some staying with at relatives'.

Bin Atiye added on Tuesday that Tajoura municipality did not receive the funds allocated by the government for the displacement issues.

"The number of IDPs is growing because of the continued fighting and the targeting of new areas every day." The mayor said.
