The Head of the Misrata-Tawergha Agreement Monitoring Committee, Yusuf Al-Zirzah, has accused the Presidential Council (PC) of hindering the implementation of the reconciliation between Tawergha and Misrata.

Al-Zirzah accused the PC last week of delaying the compensations' payment for the people damaged by the conflict from both cities.

On Wednesday, Al-Zirzah said the missing persons' issue is still on the shelf as the team assigned to work on it had rejected the appointment of a new head made by the PC lately.

"The conduct of the PC led to the shutdown of the investigation committee tasked with assessing the damage of the people from Misrata and Tawergha." He added.

He also questioned replacing the former head of the committee Salim Al-Shitewi and his team despite their qualifications for the job.

Al-Zirzah also said that the team tasked with searching for the missing in Tawergha tried to contact with the PC and the Ministry of Martyrs and Missing Persons Affairs, but all went in vain.

The PC took months to appoint a new head for the team after Al-Shitewi was sacked, thus delaying the returning process of Tawergha IDPs to their hometown.
