Political and social leaders in Libya have agreed to unify their efforts to establish presidential and parliamentary elections on consensual bases, which outcomes would be accepted.

A group of elites, politicians, and civil society activists met in Tripoli Monday to mark the founding of the National Coordination Conference Towards Stability and Construction.

They reiterated their position against violence as they called for dialogue to resolve political and military differences.

In their statement, the participants stressed they would strive to achieve a comprehensive reconciliation based on justice and restitution and pull the country out of crisis and avert the specter of war.
