Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, has warned against taking individual acts of a military nature, including conducting military parades, without prior permission.

A statement by Al-Lafi, signed under the title of (The Presidential Council, Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army), said that unilateral actions of a military nature would obstruct the political process, hinder the unification of the military and threaten civil peace.

The statement warned that such a step would make the military establishment appear divisive, calling for an immediate cessation of all practices that harm reconciliation through "unilateral and incalculable" behavior.

Al-Lafi reiterated the previous communiqué issued by the PC, which prohibits military persons from appearing in media or taking any measures without prior permission from him.

"If any of the parties take unilateral actions, they will give the other party justification to do similar actions, which will lead to obstructing the political process aimed at reaching the elections scheduled for the end of this year," Al-Lafi said.

It is noteworthy that Haftar is preparing for a "big" military parade -as he put it- on Saturday to mark the launching of his so-called Dignity Operation seven years ago.

Haftar sent an invitation to Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah and his cabinet, the PC head, and his deputies, in addition to members of Parliament.
