Vice presidents of the Presidential Council (PC) Moussa Al-Kouni and Abdullah Al-Lafi on Sunday called for a Maghreb summit at the ministerial level to revive the Arab Maghreb Union and discuss common issues.

The PC officials made a statement in this regard during their meeting with Tunisian Prime minister Hishem El-Mechishi.

Al-Koni and Al-Lafi stressed the depth of the historical relations that bind Libya and Tunisia, expressing a desire to strengthen ties in all fields to serve the interests of both nations.

They also praised the outcomes of Prime Minister Dbeibah's talks with his Tunisian counterpart, saying that this confirms the firm desire of both sides to develop prospects of fruitful cooperation, according to a statement by the PC media office.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian PM stressed, work would continue to develop Libyan-Tunisian relations during this stage. "Libya is witnessing remarkable stability paving the way for construction and development," El Mechishi said.

He emphasized working with the Libyan side to implement the findings of the Libyan-Tunisian technical committee meetings into effect.
