Chairman of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj, announced on Wednesday the establishment of a commission for the reconstruction of the city of Sirte.
"The commission will be a model for the reconstruction of cities, as the city has been a model in defeating terrorism," Al-Sarraj said at the opening session of the workshop that commenced yesterday at Sirte University over the reconstruction of Sirte.
Al-Sarraj said it is time to start the battle of reconstructing the cities that were destroyed; pointing out that his visit comes to identify the needs for the reconstruction process with partners in the international community.
He also called on the international partners to fulfill their promises and commitments to participate in the reconstruction of war-affected cities in Libya, including Sirte and Benghazi, which he said requires a substantial amount of assistance.
