The Presidential Council (PC) has deplored the statement of the head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, regarding the visit of the member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi to Tunisia.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Council confirmed that it had sent Al-Lafi as its representative to visit Tunisia to follow up on the political developments in the country, in view of the Council's responsibilities to be aware of what is happening in neighboring countries.

The statement came in response to Al-Mishri's talk about Al-Lafi's visit to Tunisia on a local TV, in which he claimed that the visit was not arranged by the Presidential Council, but rather a "personal" visit, and "Al-Lafi made a mistake for this visit".

The Presidential Council confirmed that it takes its decisions with censuses, calling on all parties to work in accordance with the specific terms of reference stipulated by the law, and the outcomes of the political agreement, according to the statement.

"We reaffirm that the positions and work of the Presidential Council, as a sovereign authority, are taken unanimously, and we confirm our commitment to the political process, the democratic path, and the road map, which was stipulated in the political agreement", the statement reads.
