Several members of the House of Representatives (HoR) announced in Tripoli on Monday that they will hold next Thursday a session in Rexos Conference Hall as per the Skhirat agreement.

"We call on the rest of HoR members to join us in the Thursday session." Hamouda Sayala said reading a final statement issued by the members.

The members agreed on the agenda of the Thursday session, including electing a new Speaker and two deputies then discussing items 16, 17, and 18 of the Libyan Political Agreement, adding that they will be ending the transitional phase.

HoR members announced Sunday that they would hold a consultation session in the presence of 41 members with the oldest member chairing the session in order to elect a Speaker and issue condemnation of the war on Tripoli by Khalifa Haftar's forces.

49 HoR members issued a statement on the first days of Tripoli offensive condemning the escalation, rejecting military coup and supporting the civil state.

In the meantime, 31 HoR members issued a statement earlier this month backing up Haftar's military operation in Tripoli saying it is a holy war on terrorism.
