The Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC), Ahmed Maiteeq, held discussions with the German Ambassador to Libya, Oliver Owcza on Tuesday, regarding the developments on the ground in Libya and the military status in Sirte and Al-Jufra.

According to the Media Department of the PC, the meeting also dealt with methods of developing bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the field of energy.

Maiteeq stressed the need for a return of German companies connected to the electricity field after the improvement of the security situation in the western region.

For his part, Owcza renewed his country’s support for the efforts made to create a ceasefire and achieve a solution for the Libyan crisis, stressing that any form of military escalation would not be in the interest of the Libyan people.
