Over 90 members of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) on Friday called on the government to launch an official campaign to provide support for the Palestinians as they face the inhuman aggression of the Israeli occupation forces.

The statement signed by 91 members urged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to communicate with Arab and Islamic states and take a serious stance to stop settlement activity and aggression on the Palestinian lands.

"We also urge the General Authority for Endowments and Islamic Affairs to direct preachers to talk about the Palestinian issue and pray for those defending the holy place," the HoR statement read, stressing that this is crucial to keep the Palestinian cause alive for posterity.

The MPs denounced the brutal attack on the Palestinian people and the failure of the Arab and Islamic world to protect them, considering that as collusion with the Zionist war machine and the normalization project, according to the statement.

People from all walks of life gathered in the Martyrs Square of Tripoli on the second day of Eid to show their support for the Palestinians. The protest was marked by a large turnout of youth and children who proved that despite the long years of Israeli occupation, the Aqsa cause remains alive in the new generation.
