The UK ambassador to Libya, Frank Baker, has reiterated his country's support for the Presidential Council and commitment to the democratic process that leads to elections in Libya.

The remarks came on Thursday in a meeting in Tripoli with the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj, whom bid Baker farewell after his term had ended.

Baker hailed Libyans' understanding and appreciation of mutual relations with the UK, while Al-Sarraj commended the work done by the ambassador in development cooperation and other channels.

The meeting saw discussions about the latest developments in Libya's political crisis and the mutual cooperation between the two countries.

Baker has had several meetings over his last days as an ambassador to Libya with different parties, including the Head of the High Council of State Khalid Al-Mishri, Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha, and deputy head of Presidential Council Ahmed Mitig.
