The National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) launched the initial stage of a comprehensive community survey, which is set to begin in the municipality of Abu Salim, to detect any new cases of the Coronavirus.

The Director of the NCDC, Dr. Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar, explained that the goal of this community survey is to find out the extent of spread by the virus, which will in effect, determine any subsequent procedures by the center.

The results will determine whether the municipality will be subject to quarantine, or if the curfew will be reduced and the first phase will initially target those centers housing displaced persons within the Abu Salim municipality.

In the second phase of the campaign, it is hoped that the municipalities of Ain Zara, Souq Al-Jumma and Tajoura will be further targeted by the community survey, in order to build a clear picture of the status of the pandemic.
