The National Salvation Government (NSG) has condemned the abduction of the four Italian construction workers near Mellitah Oil Compound last week.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the NSG said its working on identifying the kidnappers, urging the Italian government to cooperate with it in order to guarantee the safety of the Italian 
citizens in Libya.

The statement said that such criminal acts aim at destabilizing Libya's stability and security in addition to undermining relations between both countries.

The NSG also hailed the recent proposal by the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to provide Tunisia with an EU border assistance mission.

The NSG emphasized that the protection of the Tunisian borders also means protecting the Libyan borders against the infiltration of Tunisian terrorists into Libya, referring to the suicide attacks carried out in Libya by Tunisian terrorist.

The NSG also called for implementation of this proposal in the eastern and southern borders of the country to stop infiltration of terrorists and illegal immigrants.
